Joshua Tree National Park!

Joshua Tree National Park!
Marie found one possible sleeping bag...
Our campsite was amazing! It was right next to some climbing routes and the weather was fantastic. There were also tunnels back into the rock that we took naps in during the day that were out of the sun.
These girls had a great time playing in the rocks. Marie kept trying to jump over rock ledges without a rope on, so we had to keep a close eye on her... but she made it out alive!
Pa was our leader at climbing. He was always the first one to the top!
This rock was incredibly sharp, plus we are out of climbing shape... but the most painful part of the climb was when I tried to wedge myself into the crack!
This rock even came with a built in home for Marie. She loved to climb into this hole and call it her home. It even had a window with a very scenic view.
Scottie did a great job climbing too! He taught us a saying that we all thought was applicable at some point while we were climbing, "Too scared, can't move!"

Such cuties!

I let Claire play with the marker, thinking she can't get it open.... but I forgot that Marie who loves to watch over her little sister, can open markers!
Claire is now standing up! She can pull herself up and walk along things. She pulled up onto a fold out chair and then walked over to Marie's crafty table! She is getting big incredibly fast!
Claire is not as addicted to binkies as Maire, but she does suck her thumb more often than Marie did. Hopefully she will grow out of her addictions!
Marie loved the 4th of July! She was a little scared of the sparklers, but she enjoyed them after she got used to them.
Our little ham! Marie was posing because we were laughing at her sagging bum... this is what happens when you don't wear swim diapers...

San Diego Zoo!

Our cute little family after our trip to the zoo... those girls got worn out! They passed out in the stroller for the last 30 min. Then they slept most of the way back home.
Marie had a great time in the petting zoo. She attacked those goats and climbed right in with them. She loved to feed them!
I thought this picture was so cute with their necks crossed!
This is my favorite animal at the zoo! I want one for a pet! The only animal that could be more cute is a baby zebra.
These monkeys ranked up there pretty high as well... We had such a great time!

Ramada pool!

The hotel was great! It was in the perfect location between the zoo and Sea World. The best part about it was that it had a heated, outdoor pool! It was fantastic! Marie learned how to jump into the water. She didn't want to get out, but then I can't blame her... I didn't want to get out either.
Pa with the girls! What a good looking bunch! This was Claire's first time in a pool. She had a great time! I guess they really are California girls.
Claire loved to just splash around and be twirled in the water.
That is one happy girl! She didn't want to get out either, but we had a zoo to go to!
Claire was cold after getting out of the water and walking back up to our room, so Pa bundled her up nice and snug. She was tired out from all that pool time. The second she got her bink, she passed out in her warm cocoon.

Old Town San Diego

After Sea World, we went to Old Town San Diego and it was a fun time! I love the old fashioned dresses some ladies were wearing.
They had tons of old buildings. My favorite was where they were making wax candles... you could make a candle of your hand!
This flagpole is amazing! They used to climb halfway up the pole in order to get the flag down!
We went in this old candy shop and they had just about every candy you can think of! It was neat to see the ladies in their old fashioned dresses making the candy.

Sea World!!

I took Marie on this ride at Sea World and she was not a big fan... we started moving and then she said, "all done!".
We got to see the Shamu show and that was awesome! I don't know how an animal that weighs that much can get so high. By the end of the show, I had a hard time believing that killer whales were dangerous at all. They did such an amazing job!
Teddy is the famous sting ray trainer. We were trying to pet them, but they all kept going to Teddy! He liked to stick his hand deep into the water and have them swim over top of your hand and suck on your hand to see if you had any food. We had Marie touch one, but she preferred to just look.
Watch out Marie, this fish could swallow you whole!
Marie did enjoy the starfish. She liked to reach in and feel the cold water on this hot, sunny day!

Who wants zucchini?

We have been eating our zucchini! We have harvested four so far! They taste so much better when they are home grown.
Claire loved painting with Marie, but she only got one color to work with. She didn't mind though. She did a great job painting the paper, her hands, her feet, and her belly!
Marie wanted to test out Claire's jumper to make sure it was safe for her. Maybe she just wanted to get some attention and play with her toys...
We have two cute girlies ready for the 4th of July! In one picture Claire was happy and smiling, but Marie wasn't looking... in another picture Marie was happy, but Claire was a leaning tower... so this is the middle-no one is quite smiling, but no one is sad or falling over!!
