Theodore's Attacking

I originally set out thinking that I needed to get more pictures of Theodore (especially when he wasn't crying).
The girls did not want to be left out of the photo shoot.
So they got as close as possible to Theodore...
At least I managed to get one picture of him being happy outside.

Theodore's First Haircut

I was sad to see Theodore's curls go, but his hair was just getting too long. If I didn't know better, I would have thought that he was a girl. Pa got to give Theodore his first haircut!
We ended up using a mixture of scissors and clippers because his hair was really thin and didn't want to cut.
Theodore wasn't very interested in getting his hair cut, but he was satisfied with a sucker.
Look at the fine lookin' boy! He looks so much older now. I guess that is OK since we will have another baby boy soon, but I did love his curls.

Monster Truck Rally

We thought it would be fun to go for a family outing to a monster truck rally! Theodore won't keep ear muffs on, so he went to play at a friend's house. The girls had been looking forward to it for weeks. They kept asking if the big trucks were on their way here yet.
Needless to say after seeing those pictures, Pa and I thought it was awesome! I was amazed at just how big the trucks were and how high they got. The girls couldn't have shown less enthusiasm. Maybe they were just in shock because they talked about it for weeks afterwards. We looked at their faces and figured they hated it! Marie was concerned about the cars that were being crushed, but I think the biggest affect was the noise. It was so incredibly loud! I am surprised that I can still hear even after using ear muffs the entire time!
There was a battle between good and evil during the intermission. They brought out two transformers that 'shot' at each other. This was the highlight for the girls. They were happy that the good car won.
The truck rally was sponsored by Taco Bell, which happens to be one of Teddy's favorite restaurants... so to top off the family date, we went out to Taco Bell afterwards.

Jumper

Theodore is getting some mad skills on the trampoline. He is starting to be able to jump with the girls instead of getting rocked by the girls. He has also learned how to climb up the ladder to get onto the trampoline all by himself! What a big boy!

Funny Faces

The girls wanted to get their funny faces on camera. They came up with a variety of faces.
Unfortunately, a lot of their moves looked a lot like our workout moves... maybe they are saying that we look ridiculous when we work out.

Crazy braids and posing

This little boy always wants to look at the pictures... but he won't let me take them first. If he sees a camera, he will freak out unless he is looking at the back of the camera to see how the picture turned out. Maybe a movie producer in the making...
Marie wanted crazy braids in her hair.
She is getting big so fast! She loves to pose for pictures. She also wants to see them immediately after I take them, but at least she understands that I have to take them first!

Happy Birthday Claire!

At the grocery store, Claire is always asking for doughnuts. I told her she could get some for her birthday and I think they were the highlight of her day! We only get doughnuts on someones birthday, so it was a big deal. They even had enough left for the next morning as well.
Claire got some markers, legos, games/puzzles, and Marie was just as excited about all the new toys.
Happy birthday Claire!!! I can't believe that she is already 3. The time flies so fast. We love you!

Swimsuits in winter?

We were driving home after the library and the girls saw their favorite water splash park. They were highly disappointed that I wasn't going to stop and see if it was open. I tried to explain to them that it would be really cold to run around outside in the snow in a swimsuit while water poured on you. They didn't quite get the concept and kept arguing that it would be fun thing to do. We told them that if they were determined to freeze that they could get swimsuits on and go jump on the trampoline. They only relented if we said we would also spray water on them. I told them that if they weren't cold after a couple minutes then they could get wet, although I wouldn't have done it anyways.

Teddy and I were surprised when they actually got their swimsuits on, ran outside and jumped on the trampoline! It hadn't been quite 5 minutes, but I knew they must be freezing in the 20 degree weather. Teddy went out there and asked if they were having fun. They said they were having a great time. He asked how their feet were feeling and then they both instantly started crying. We brought them in to warm up by the fire and thaw out their feet. The crazy thing is that a few days later they wanted to do the same thing! We reminded them that it was not such a good idea and they let it go...

Batman!

This 'little' boy isn't so little anymore. He despises his highchair now that he has experienced the freedom of a table and chair.

Wrestling Season

During the wrestling meet breaks, the girls love to go play on the mats. Usually their 'wrestling' consists more of kicking and pushing, but occasionally they will actually do a move. They love to watch their Pa be a coach. They enjoyed making posters for the last match of the season!

This is the first season that Pa coached middle school. I think he liked it almost more than the high school job because the kids were more open to learning and trying out advice. His team wasn't very big, but he had a great time and got to see a lot of improvement in the kids. He will probably do the same coaching position next year because even though it was middle school instead of high school, he actually got paid to be the assistant coach!
