Dirt Biking Continues

Our favorite thing about living in California was the fabulous dirt biking opportunities (besides the good friends, of course). With so much BLM land and dirt bike races galore, it was a dirt bikers dream come true. We were sad to leave it behind, but I think I have grown more fond of the Hatfield McCoy Trails.
We made another trip to the trail system and it was fantastic. The first day, only Teddy and I went. It had rained a lot before we got there, so the trails were super muddy and slippery (plus we had mini pools to ride through), but we had a fantastic time!
We packed our lunches and had a dirt biking date!
Teddy is a much better dirt biker than I am, so I will sometimes wait at a trail junction for him to do some ridiculous trails and come back to get me. I was tired because we had been riding all day, so I thought this log looked very appealing for a nice rest while Teddy did his black diamond trail. I sat down on the log and then noticed something moving along the side of my boot. I was so tired that I didn't even jump, although I was a little scared. I realized that it didn't have a rattle so it couldn't be that bad of a snake, right? Well, I had to prove my story to Teddy so I got my camera and came back to take the picture. I found out later that this little innocent looking snake is actually a copperhead. If you look up copperhead bites (at least usually not fatal), I am incredibly thankful that it did not bite me. I am also thankful that I did not know exactly how dangerous this snake was when it was touching my boot or I might have jumped and freaked it out which might have caused it to bite me.
The next day we went with Scott and Kathy Freeman on the trails and had another fantastic day of riding. We went on a different part of the trail system, so there wouldn't be quite as large of pools. We also didn't see any poisonous snakes which makes for happy riders. It was Kathy's first time riding and she did great!
She did injure her knee on a fall, but she said that she had a great time. She plans to get back on the bike again after her knee heals.
Look at the dirt biking couple!

Trampoline Water Fun

What is better than playing with water or jumping on the trampoline? Jumping on the trampoline with water!! Everyone, even Theodore, absolutely loved it. I love Ohio weather.

The Sippie

Theodore is getting better at using his sippie, but he is unwilling to consider the cup a friend. He often chucks it off his table and will literally take just a few sips until you eventually cave in and give him a bottle that he can chug. Maybe in the morning when he is desperate for a bottle, he would be more excited about seeing a sippie cup... In the tub, he will play with little cups and drink the water without a lid at all. Maybe we will have to bypass the sippie cup and go straight to a cup.

Fish Food

Claire loves to help feed the fish. We always tell her to ask before feeding them, but one time she thought that they were so hungry that they just couldn't wait... so she fed them the half of the can.

Boonshoft Night

The Boonshoft Kids Museum was having a pizza party night for members! Our girls LOVE the Boonshoft, so having pizza AND all the fun learning centers made it even better. It is a hands-on, learning museum that we have enjoyed.
The girls love to play in the water (of course) and the auto body shop, but they had some craft tables set up this evening as well. We also got to see a little show about the tortoise and the hare. We got to enjoy some make your own ice cream bags and candy also! They have a little vet clinic set up where you can take x-rays of stuffed animals, a recycling center, and a planet display. We had a great time and can't wait to go back again before our membership expires.
Theodore was able to munch on the crust of some pizza, but he was more fond of trying to the chew the chips through the bag.

Claire went to the dentist!

Claire went to the dentist for the first time! Marie had an appointment at the same time, so she was excited to go be a big girl like Marie. She hesitantly went back with them to sit in the big dentist chair, but then she freaked out... She was screaming and was terrified that she was going to get shots. (The picture on the left is obviously the before picture...) Unfortunately, we went to the doctor's office a couple days before and she had to get some blood drawn so she was not on good terms with medical care. I couldn't convince her that is was going to be OK, so they just counted her teeth and said she was good to go. She refused to swallow for the next hour (she just let it drool out instead) and would talk while keeping her mouth closed. Marie might not be as closely related to me as I previously thought... she LOVES the dentist!
We have been having some good rain storms lately. We like to go sit on the front porch and watch the girls run around and put sticks down the 'river' in the street.
Teddy and I had been wanting to go on a date for awhile, but we didn't want to leave the chillin's behind, so we figured something out! We got some BWW's to go and stopped at the grocery store to get some treats and then put the girls to bed right at 7 o'clock. We were able to watch a movie and enjoy some quiet time with some yummy junk food! It was a great date without having to leave the house. :)

Forgotten Camping Pic

I forgot to add the picture of the chillin's from camping! We are going to have to go camping again soon!

Fun Girlies

I think I should have gotten up on a higher ladder to take the picture, but it is still cute. Another idea that I got from pinterest-using sidewalk chalk to make backgrounds for photographs!
 Super Marie!
Pa helped demonstrate to Marie the proper way to be a super hero.
These girls LOVE the park! The swings are definitely their favorite attraction. Marie likes moderate pushes, but Claire likes to get pushed as high as you will let her go. She only starts to get a little nervous when her bum starts to fly up from the swing at the top of the high pushes.
 These girls are best buds.
I love how this park has a bunch of trees right behind the swings so they can stay in the shade, then we don't even have to put on sunscreen to go to the park!

Camping and Climbing

We enjoyed a fun weekend camping with some friends at Hocking Hills. We met up with the Roth family to camp for a night and then go rock climbing the next day. I have been doing lots of running lately, but that doesn't do much for my arms. My arms are definitely out of climbing shape!
It was Theodore's first camping experience and he seemed to enjoy it! The girls loved running around outside and eating smores.
We had a visitor in the middle of the night... Raccoons managed to tear through a canvas bag to get to our remaining smores ingredients. The culprits could probably be found by following the trail of chocolate wrappers.
Theodore loved riding in his carrier. I didn't know if he would like it, but he seemed to be completely entertained by pulling my hair. It was a little hike to get to the climbing location so we got to test out our 'new' carrier. It is very nice to have!

Big Hugs

I was trying to get a good picture of the girls to blow up for their bedroom wall, but I didn't get the PERFECT shot. I did get some pretty good ones though. They sure love each other!
