Rat Race!

I figured I could get in another race before Boy Shillig gets too angry at me. Teddy and I ran the rat race on base a little over a week ago. Teddy did great and his AFRL team even won the trophy! You might have to click on the picture to see if you can find him. I started in the back, knowing my running skills are not up to par. I wish I could blame that entirely on being 20 weeks pregnant, but I also haven't ran in a month. It had been windy all week, but it was perfect weather on race day. It was a gorgeous, yet brutal run up a VERY steep hill. It was just over a 5K. Teddy ran even extra... after he finishes, he runs back to find me and then runs in the rest of the race with me. :) 

Mother's Day Surprise!

We had just gone camping at Joshua Tree NP for mother's day and I had a good Sunday as well... I was completely surprised when Teddy came home from work on Monday and told me to pack up because we were going skiing the next day! I was so excited to get one more adventure in before I get too pregnant and getting your shoes on becomes the adventure of the day.

 There was no one at Mammoth on a Tuesday! We drove up the night before so we could be there when they opened. It was continual skiing... we just skied straight onto the lifts.

 It got cold and windy as the day went on so we didn't stay the whole time, but it was a lot of fun. Teddy had arranged for the girls to spend the night at our neighbor's house. I always feel bad leaving the girls behind, but Marie was so excited to go play with Cassidy.

 My ski pants were already fairly tight pre-pregnancy, so I was excited when I was able to squeeze into them.

I forgot to add a picture from our climbing trip. After our trip to Joshua Tree, the girls were a wreck. They were so tired and cranky... Teddy didn't want to chance waking them... so Marie got put to bed like this. :)

Trip to Joshua Tree National Park

 Before we move, we are trying to hit our favorite places one last time and some new places. We have been to Joshua Tree National Park a couple times before, but we just love it... so we HAD to go back for some more great camping. We went Mother's Day weekend!

 Marie got some banged up knees playing on the rocks, but she had a fantastic time!

 Claire was all about the camp food. She kept climbing on top of the picnic table, getting into the cooler, and eating all the snacks. She had a lot of fun too!

 We went with our neighbors, the Walkers, and I think they had fun too!

This was my last climb of the trip, but I hope to squeeze in another trip to Joshua Tree before we leave. I am going to have to hurry though... I am not getting any skinnier!

Teddy's Big Hit

 We have had a swing for awhile, but only ONE swing... the girls would always want to be on the swing at the same time. Claire couldn't be on the swing by herself, but Marie could... so it usually resulted in Claire not swinging as often.

 Teddy decided that a tire swing would solve the issue because then Claire could swing by herself on that one, and Marie could use the other one still! It was a great idea, but now they just fight over the tire swing. :)

 Thankfully, they both can fit on the tire swing at the same time! Everyone is happy! Good job Pa!

 Marie has been riding her bike like a champ for awhile now, but I hadn't put any pictures up!

 She sure loves her bike. She does a great job!

 She is a little slow, but she is getting faster. Claire can run faster than Marie can ride, but she will get there!

Marie surprised me the other day by making her bed! She always sees me make the bed in the morning and she ran in to tell me the good news, "I did it too!" So I walked into her room and WA LA! Look at that gorgeous looking bed. Good job Marie!

 Claire loves her shoes... especially when they are ridiculously big on her!

 Sometimes I do have a problem trying to find my shoes though. They get worn all over the house!

 She also loves her hats. She doesn't keep them on for very long though. She also doesn't seem to want to wear them when we are out in the sun...

 Claire is getting to be quite the talker!

 She lets you know what she wants. She likes to wave at everything also. She will walk by the fish and say, "Hi fish!" She wants to make sure that the ants and pictures don't feel left out too.

We sure love our little Claire Bear. She is such a happy girl!

Just to Clarify...

OK... so maybe the post on the blog wasn't quite as obvious as I thought it was, but the ticker should have been a dead give away. Most people realized that we were having another baby, but just to clarify... we're having our first baby BOY!! (the blue socks, blue binkie, and blue ticker were supposed to hint towards the gender)

During the ultrasound, Marie was like, "It's a fish!" We told her that she was going to have a new baby brother. We asked her what we should name the baby boy. She came up with a great name... Boy Shillig! Claire just ran around terrorizing the office, but Marie is very excited for another sibling to play with. She tells most people she sees that Ma has a baby in her belly!

Claire is getting so big! She is talking a lot now and will repeat most words so everyone can understand them. Marie is getting so big too! She has been in big girl undies for three days now and only one accident! She is doing great! She also went to bed last night WITHOUT a binkie! I am not sure if that was a miracle or if we can work her out of it...

We thought that since our girls are getting so big, it was time to have another little one! He should join us in October.
